ELASCA for the modern European Latin America Philatelist
ELASCA (European Latin American Stamp Collector Association) is a young and innovative organization (2013) with proactive members from Belgium and the Netherlands devoted to helping the European philatelist. As of this moment we have members from 8 different countries.
Our mission
is to stimulate interest in Latin American philately through a freely accessible database of articles: the library and News.
ELASCA’s methods:
ELASCA uses its website to communicate with its members and to allow discourse between the members themselves. We intend to provide for a great variety of possibilities.
Just like every other philatelic organization in the world ELASCA focuses on several main points of attention. Only ours are a little different:
- the website is trilingual: Dutch, English and German;
- the goal of the Library is to publish new articles and save older articles from oblivion while being freely accessible;
- the ELASCA bulletin is issued twice a year in English and Dutch ;
- old bulletins (after 5 years) will be freely available in the Library;
- ELASCA internet auctions (only accessible to members);
- ELASCA meeting rooms preferably take place during major philatelic events. Partners and aspiring members are always welcome;
- the member database makes it possible to come into contact with other members through e-mail;
- ELASCA welcomes participation in its organization by passionate post stamp traders and auction houses, as philately is of collective importance;
- As a young philatelic organization ELASCA has a sizeable international network.
